Orlando John Morganti, a Life Well-Lived and Memories to Cherish

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Orlando John Morganti, affectionately known as OJ or Lanny, at the age of 69. OJ left this world peacefully in his sleep on February 27, 2023.

Born to the late Orlando and Josephine (VanTassel) Morganti, OJ was a free spirit with a heart full of love and a life filled with adventure. He lived in various places, including Vancouver, BC, before making Nova Scotia his home. His journey took him from delivering groceries on a bike as a young man to bartending, working at Canadian Pacific Railway, and eventually becoming a talented artist in the field of architectural landscaping.

OJ's early years were marked by loss when he lost his mother at just six years old. This experience shaped him into a resourceful youth who was always full of mischief and fun. As he grew older, OJ became known for his similes and tender heart, which will be deeply missed by his loved ones.

OJ is survived by his sisters, Velvet (John) Weir, Judy Morganti, and brother-in-law Mark Smalley; son Brandon Renwick from Scotland; daughter Gemma Renwick from Scotland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His family and friends will remember him for his willingness to help those in need, especially the young or elderly.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice in OJ's name. As he wished, there will be no celebration of life; instead, we invite you to remember OJ by paying it forward in your own way.

Rest in peace, dear OJ. You are with the loving angels that went before you, and your legacy will live on through the memories and stories shared among those who loved you dearly.
